My cousin Nikki was sadly taken away from us october 1992, she was murdered by a man who lived just
yards from her home in the east end of sunderland, she was only 7 years old, she had 3sisters a step
sister and step brother. The horrible man who did this was arrested, the police questioned him and
he denied the murder numerous times before admittin what he did and how he did it, there was enough
evidence to charge him when the police found a knife at his home which matched the stab wounds she
had and after a witness (the killers sister) came forward and told police that the nite Nikki was
reported missing he went home late goin straight to the bathroom for sometime washing his clothes
and himself. He stood trial at leeds crown court for 6weeks but walked a free man, the judge had
told the jury they had to give a verdict of NOT GUILTY, the judge says that the police pressured him
to much and thats why he admitted it, he was NOT pressured into admittin her murder, he admitted it
because the police had all the evidence to prove it so he had no way out but he still walked a free
man. A murderer is out on the streets because of a judge. Family has been trying all these years to
get justice but still nothing has happened, currently they are trying to get him retrialed and
behind bars for life. Nikkis family wont give up until that man is behind bars.
Our Nikki was a lovely little girl, she was always smiling and was full of energy, running around
with her beautiful summer dressers on. She was a beautiful little girl who was adored by everyone.
Nikki darling you were loved sooo much when you were here and you still are, you'll always be
remembered and have a place in our hearts. Me mams with you now (aunty val) so i hope you's are
both looking after each other and hope you's are watching over family and friends til we all
come to the place of rest.

nite god bless dear nikki. i hope to god you one day get justice for your little one. the law of this land is unbelievable. my family know just how you are feeling . tomorrow we find out the sentence for the scum that murdered my lovly step-son wayne tomorrow. just like in nikki's case the police had enough evidence to convict for murder. we got 5 weeks into trial then the judge directed that they had pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of manslaughter and dismissed the jury. out of 8 originally charged only 4 will be sentenced. i know in my heart that one day one way or another these people that take the lives of our loved ones will pay the price. your pain must be unbearable knowing this man walks the streets. will keep you in our thoughts.
